Ottawa Stands Up against poverty at send off for Prime Minister Harper to the UN MDG Summit

On Friday September 17th, activists will stand up in front of Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Office (80 Wellington St) at 1:00pm in advance of his departure for New York next week to attend the UN MDG Summit.

Amnesty International members and Make Poverty History volunteers.
Amnesty International Secretary General Alex Neve will speak on the need for a human rights approach to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Dennis Howlett, National Coordinator of Make Poverty History will speak to the need for Canada’s leadership at the MDG Summit. Activists, dressed in black and white, and representing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of women in pregnancy and childbirth each year, will take part in the call to action.
