G8/G20 Rally & March
Saturday June 26, 2010 – 1:00 p.m.
Queen’s Park, Toronto

Join us for this important family-friendly, rally & march to send a message on climate change to G8/G20 leaders. Greenpeace supporters in Toronto are asked to meet at the Greenpeace office, 33 Cecil Street (one block south of College St, just west of Spadina Ave), at 11:30am and march over to Queen’s Park as a group. The Greenpeace contingent will be led by our international director, Kumi Naidoo, and our Canadian director, Bruce Cox. For more information, click here.

Outside of Toronto? Catch a Free Bus to the Rally!

Thanks to support from the labour movement, Greenpeace supporters outside of Toronto can catch free buses to rally & march on Saturday June 26th. However, you need to confirm a seat on the bus NO LATER THAN Thursday June 17.

Free buses will be leaving for Queen’s Park from points around southern Ontario on the morning of Saturday June 26, and returning from Toronto between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Look for the Greenpeace banners once you arrive at Queen’s Park.

To confirm a seat, please send your departure point (from list below), as well as your name, email, and telephone number to: G8G20bus@gmail.com, or telephone: 416-597-8408 X 3815

Once you have confirmed a seat on the bus, we will send you the departure location and time as well as local contact person.

Peoples Summit 2010: Building a Movement for a Just World
Ryerson University, Toronto, June 18-20, 2010

Check out the Peoples summit – a popular alternative, counter-summit to the G8 and G20 summits in Huntsville and Toronto, with over 130 workshops, panels, skillshares, speakers and performances, including two Greenpeace panels.

Politics of the G8 and G20: Toronto, Ottawa, and the Planet Saturday June 19, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. This panel will feature Toronto-based politicians at both the federal and municipal levels, including Olivia Chow, MP Trinity-Spadina, and Adam Vaughan, Toronto Councillor, Ward 20, Trinity Spadina.

Food Security in the Age of Climate Change Saturday June 19, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. This presentation will feature Eric Darier, Greenpeace campaigner on genetic engineering and food sustainability issues
