11 Puppies Found Abandoned Near Ottawa Dumpster (OT)

This litter of German shepherd-mix puppies was rescued from a cardboard box outside an Ottawa museum last week.(CBC)
Eleven puppies were abandoned in a cardboard box near a dumpster outside Ottawa’s Canadian War Museum last Monday, saved only by an alert passerby.
The German shepherd-mix dogs — only about six-weeks-old — have been taken in by the Ottawa Humane Society. Officials said they are now mostly in good shape despite being left outside in some of this winter’s coldest weather.

Why do people insist on abandoning them? Surely they could take them to a rescue? I guess it could have been worse, they were left somewhere with lots of passers by, it could have been a quiet roadside or the local dump where they may not have been found.

True. So sad though, so many potential homes… how can they throw out a life like it were trash?
